Airtel BlackBerry is popular among Android smartphone users, and it is for a reason - it also works on non-BlackBerry devices, especially the BB Unlimited subscriptions. Note that the word Unlimited is just a term for the service; it doesn't mean data is uncapped. On account of the legacy BlackBerry subscription being cheaper than regular data, it's not a surprise that Android users favour Airtel BlackBerry.

However, with the introduction of Android data plans from various providers, and the observation that when an Airtel BlackBerry subscription is used to power a non-BlackBerry device, the rate of data depletion appears double the normal rates, it is my opinion that the interest of Android users in Airtel BlackBerry may be waning.

Airtel BlackBerry has 4 categories, namely, BB Absolute, BB Complete, BB Unlimited and BB10. BB Unlimited is of interest to all mobile users whether you carry a BlackBerry smartphone or not.

Airtel BlackBerry Absolute plans are equivalent to full BlackBerry Internet Services including 10 web-based email addresses, one complementary BlackBerry email address, BlackBerry APN-routed internet traffic, social networking, instant messaging, and so forth.

Airtel BlackBerry Unlimited is multi-platform, as it works not only on BlackBerry devices, but also on non-BlackBerry devices. However, when it is used on a non-BlackBerry device, data burns at double the normal rates. If you opened, say, 10 KB of file, you would be charged approximately 20 KB.
